Kidventional Wisdom / Action Alerts:

As October 1st draws closer and there is still no budget agreement, the Michigan League for Human Services is concerned about the possibility of a state budget shutdown. We are worried about what a state shutdown will mean to basic services we all rely on every day. A shutdown or failure to increase revenues to make up for a $1.8 billion deficit means fewer state dollars to support health care and social services for vulnerable residents, local services such as police and fire, and K-12 and higher education. Please encourage your legislators to make Michigan’s quality of life their highest priority in the days ahead. Learn more about the state's budget situation and how you can express your opinion at www.countdowntochaos.org.
