General membership exists for individuals and small organizations who wish to be kept informed of maternal and child health policy developments and advocacy issues through action alerts, Community Newsletter (MCMCH's quarterly newsletter), and other mailings. General members serve as the MCMCH network of advocates across the state and are frequently very involved in their local community on behalf of mothers and children.

Varying levels of General Membership exist, with dues ranging from $20-$200. Please see the General Membership Application for more information.

Contributing Membership

Contributing membership allows non-profit organizations and corporate entities that are not maternal and child health focused to provide substantive support to MCMCH without the responsibilities of Board involvement.

Three levels of Contributing Membership exist to allow for differing capacities for support.
Level 1 Non-profit community organizations ($2,219)
Level 2 Non-profit organizations ($11,096)
Level 3 Corporate ($16,640)

In addition to the benefits of General Membership, Contributing Members are identified on all MCMCH publications, letterhead and promotional materials. Further, Level 3 Contributing Members are eligible to request a liaison relationship with the Board, allowing the opportunity for non-voting participating in MCMCH Board meetings. Requests for a liaison will be considered on a case by case basis.

Sustaining Membership

Sustaining Membership is by invitation only, and is reserved for those entities and organizations that have as their primary mission the advancement of maternal and child health. Three tiers of Sustaining Membership exist to accommodate the variety of maternal and child health-based organizations that exist in Michigan, and to help insure that all sectors of the maternal and child health community in our state have the opportunity to participate in MCMCH.

Tier 1 Institutional providers ($33,810)
Tier 2 Ambulatory providers ($13,560)
Tier 3 Volunteer Organizations ($4,080)

Sustaining Membership includes a voting seat on the MCMCH Board of Directors, and each Sustaining Member is entitled to a Primary and Alternate Representative on the Board (though each organization holds a single vote). Sustaining Members are listed on all MCMCH publications, letterhead, and promotional materials.

Membership Benefits

A seat on the Michigan Council for Maternal and Child Health provides an organization or association with the opportunity to help shape the agenda and identify the priorities of MCMCH. Because of MCMCH's standing and track record as an effective leader on maternal and child health issues in Michigan, Board members become key players in driving the future of maternal and child health policy in our state.
