When you go the polls, be an informed voter, and be in the KNOW!

KNOW . . .

Ø     where and when to vote . . .

Ø     what kind of machine you’ll be using to vote . . .

Ø     who the candidates are and what they stand for . . .

 Ø     what your ballot looks like . . .

INFORMATION YOU CAN FIND ON THE INTERNET:

 www.mi.gov/sos

Michigan Voter Information Center.  The Michigan Secretary of State’s website offers a great service for voters. You type in your name and address, and you will find information on who is running for office, where you vote, how to get an absentee ballot (as well as the form for requesting one!), and you can view a video on how to use the voting machine you’ll have at your polling station.

 www.publius.org

Publius will give you just about everything you need to know to be comfortable at the polls! You type in your name and address, and you will find out where to vote, who is on the ballot, what kind of machine you’ll be using, and how to get an absentee ballot form. You can view the ballot, exactly as it will be at the voting booth. Print it out, and take it with you!

 www.vote-smart.org

Project Vote Smart. If you want to study who is running for office and really learn what they stand for, this is the place! Not only does it provide you with the voting records of the candidates, but it also will indicate what special interest groups the candidates’ actions seem to support!
